Where can your career take you?
Upon entering into an HE course, Lynds Holford found that in reality childcare wasn’t the issue she thought it would be, as it’s considered in the timetabling, so lectures were on two full days rather than spread out, and that made a big difference for her. On min wage, and working two jobs, in a bar and cleaning – she didn’t have any career progression options. But over the course of her studies Lynds has now become a lecturer herself.
Aaron couldn’t progress any further in his career, so taking the decision to study at HE level broadened his career options. He says that maturity helps, and that things will happen at the right time for you, advising to push yourself and you will get there.
