Hi there, my name is Stephen Seki, and I went through Clearing at the University of Kent.
Clearing is a second chance for thousands of students. For me, it changed my life; it gave me an opportunity to have another chance at achieving my dream of becoming a pharmacist, as I hadn’t reached the grades I had hoped for.
What I remember about clearing is the thousands of university spaces that were available after results day. A lot of students don’t make the grades for entry requirements for their chosen course, so for those that didn’t get into university, Clearing is viable option for them.
I’m a massive fan of the clearing system because it offers different routes into higher education. I did not get the grades to study pharmacy but my grades were enough to gain me entry on the Pharmacy Foundation course (MPharm) at the University of Kent.
My advice for students is to find out the different routes to achieving your dream and be prepared for all outcomes on results day.
