You don’t have to be able to write an essay to study HE
Elizabeth Adamson says the staff are there to help you with academic support as well as your wellbeing. There can be gaps in your ability as an adult learner, but HE institutions know this and provide the support many people need.
Niel Archer found that his lack of formal education was a barrier to working in role he wanted. Even with a PTSD diagnosis Niel was supported on his educational journey. He says that although education may not be the fastest route to where you want to go, with commitment and patience it is the surest.
