Careers Hubs are a central part of the government’s Careers Strategy and Statutory Guidance for School Leaders. The aim is to help all secondary schools and colleges implement high quality careers guidance to help young people make more informed decisions around their future choices.
Our role is to link secondary schools and colleges in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly to local employers and help them deliver high quality careers support for students by:
- Building Networks: linking schools and colleges to a high calibre business volunteers (known as Enterprise Advisers) and other career providers through the Careers Hub.
- Supporting Careers Leaders: providing training and support for Careers Leaders in schools and colleges.
- Backing the Gatsby Benchmarks: supporting implementation of a best practice standard for careers support, the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks, by the end of 2020.
Our team of Enterprise Coordinators work across Cornwall and Isles of Scilly to join the dots between business and education.
The EA and Careers Leader work together to create a high quality careers plan, to increase employer engagement, embed careers into the curriculum and effectively informs students of their options.
