National Careers Week 2019
The aim of National Careers Week (NCW) is for schools and colleges to bring students and employers together through a range of career-focussed events and activities.
Coinciding with National Apprenticeships Week, the initiative runs from the 4th – 8th March and provides a platform on which students can learn more about employment and training opportunities in their area and beyond.
Free resources
NCW recognises the importance of good careers guidance in schools and colleges, particularly for those students who are nearing the end of their formal schooling. To support the week, there are all sorts of free resources on offer.
Making the most of NCW
Whether you’re a student, teacher or careers adviser, National Careers Week is a great opportunity to meet with employers face to face and find out what they really look for in young people who are getting ready to enter the workplace. A little homework in advance will help you get the most out of the week, so find out which employers you are interested in talking to, and prepare some questions in advance. Remember, knowing what skills employers are looking for is key in having something to aim for.
