Career Goals Live! sessions during November.
These are free online events where you can hear about different areas of the film, television and games industry and the various pathways into them from a National Film and Television School graduate or current student. Careers advisors and relevant department staff are welcome to attend these events along with any individuals interested in finding out about careers in the industry
These talks will offer an insight into how they can establish a career in the industry, how their skills are adaptable and what potential career pathways are available to them.
Claire is a film editor with credits including The Lorax (2012), Minions (2015), Despicable Me 3 (2017) and Minions 2 (2022). A graduate of the National Film and Television School and University of Creative Arts, Claire started in the industry as an assistant editor for film and television. Her assistant credits include Foyle’s War, Corpse Bride and Fantastic Mr Fox. Since 2009, she has worked for Illumination Animation in Paris. In 2018, Claire was nominated for an ACE Eddie Award for her work on Despicable Me 3.
Elle Haywood is an NFTS graduate who is an Independent Film Programmer, Critic and Lecturer based in London. Elle has previously curated work for Cambridge Film Festival, Genesis Cinema and the National Film and Television School, and has moderated sessions for London Korean Film Festival. She frequently covers international festivals including Cannes, Berlinale, Göteborg, London, Sundance and Glasgow.
Nigel Tadyanehondo is an independent Colourist working on a wide range of projects which include animations, commercials, music promos, short films and feature films. Nigel studied Digital Effects at the NFTS, specialising in Colour Grading. He has worked on films that have been selected for numerous international film festivals such as SXSW, BAFTA, OSCAR Student Academy, BFI London, Grierson, Locarno and many more. Nigel’s clients include Arsenal, British Vogue, Formula E, EA Sports, Adidas, Nike, Netflix, Amazon, NoTwoWays, Telfar, Dazed and with directors such as Glen Milner, Dean George, Edie Amos, Ben “Rvbberduck” Doyle, Alec Maxwell, Aaron Christian, Sylvia Hong and Dalia Dias.
The games industry is booming with more people than ever before consuming video game content! Hear from current NFTS Games Design and Development MA student Julia Spinola, who is a game designer, narrative designer and artist. She studied Film Production at Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film and Television in Los Angeles before joining the NFTS.
Since graduating from the NFTS Sports Production Diploma course in 2019, Flynn Hamilton has worked on coverage for a variety of sports. Flynn worked as a Media Co-ordinator for the Euro Championships 2020 shooting daily interviews, vox pops, training sessions and matches. Flynn is currently working for EuroLeague Basketball, and has also previously shot coverage for Golfing World and EFL.
