CMS Law Scholarships – An opportunity for Year 12 students

By: NSSW

If you’re in Year 12 and interested in Law, make sure you check out this fantastic opportunity from top ten law firm, CMS.

What is the CMS Law Scholarships Scheme?

At CMS, we believe that a career in law should be open to everyone with the right talents. To realise the full potential of our offering, we are committed to attracting and developing a new generation of the brightest and most creative legal minds from across the UK. Four Scholarships winners receive £2500 for each year of their degree course.  All Scholarships finalists receive mentoring support with their university applications, support from one of our graduate trainees and paid work experience at CMS.  We also pay travel and accommodation expenses for our assessment day and work experience so that economic barriers do not prevent students from attending.

Background to CMS

CMS is the 6th largest law firm in the world and has recently been named in The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers 2018/2019. As well as supporting students in their university applications, the Law Scholarships scheme offers students a chance to develop a relationship with us and start their journey into the legal profession.

Who can apply?

Scholarships are aimed at academically high-achieving students (predicted ABB at A-Level) who will be the first generation in their family to go to university. There are also certain financial criteria that students need to meet and full details of these can be found in the attached Scholarships brochure.

What are the next steps?

To be considered for a Scholarship, students will need to enter our essay-writing competition which opens on 3 June 2019 and closes on 17 July 2019. You can find full details of the scheme and how to apply in our downloadable brochure.
