What are Code – Create – Collaborate, HE Computing Workshops?
The Code – Create – Collaborate, HE Computing Workshops are designed to engage and increase knowledge of what HE computing has to offer for students.
These workshops will also develop students’ digital skills and provide opportunities to meet with and talk to lecturers and current undergraduate students. Students will be actively participating in a chosen practical workshop to collaborate, code and create digital solutions for computer-based problems.
There are three workshops to choose from:
- Programming and Robotics – Python programming using the Raspberry Pi with Sense Hat and Lego Mindstorms NXT Robotics.
- 3D Printing and Virtual Reality – Using 3D models for 3D printing and VR Oculus Go.
- Cyber Security and Cryptography – Real-time cyber-attack and cyber security defence strategies using industry standard software.
Schools can select more than one workshop if they wish. There will be a Showcase on Thursday 20th June 2019 for all students who took part in workshops to come to University Centre Somerset to showcase their projects whilst engaging with other students and staff.
